Melinda began acting at an age too early to remember. From writing and performing short plays for the neighborhood, acting in school plays, creating radio shows while playing numerous different characters, founding her high school’s first drama department to leading teams of actors overseas on arts-in-missions outreaches, Melinda has been involved in some form of theatre her whole life.
She answered God’s call on her life to full-time Christian ministry at age 16 and has been using the arts on the mission field and in ministry for over 20 years. She loves teaching, directing and performing, particularly in a creative ministry aspect. She has led acting and improv workshops in many states as well as in England, Scotland, Spain and Australia.
Earning her B.A. in Theatre Arts from an arts institute in Sydney, Australia and her M.A. in Communications (Educational Theatre & Theatre in Ministry) from Regent University, she discovered that school can be fun when you’re studying something about which you’re passionate!
While living in the San Francisco Bay Area, Melinda was a founding member of an improvisation group called “Off The Cuff Stuff”, which performed together for two years. Her favorite form of theatre is improv!
After years of theatre studies and performance, Melinda studied digital film-making for three months, after which she worked in various aspects of the film, video and TV industry. In 2008-2009, she had the privilege of working as associate producer and camera-person on a full-length documentary film which is currently being entered into film festivals worldwide as well as being broadcast overseas.
