In the time of King David and for some time afterward, worship was given to God continually (1 Chronicles 16:37; Psalm 95:2; Psalm 100:2). The worship ministry was highly organized into groups of musicians and singers who took shifts to minister before the Lord day and night. Worship was expressed 24 hours a day using musical instruments accompanied by joyful singing and thanksgiving as a response to God's presence in their midst.
