Jesus spoke these words out in the middle of the Feast of the Tabernacles, when He stood up right in the middle of the crowd. Most rabbis (teachers) sat down while they taught the people, but Jesus stood up and spoke out. I am sure He had to speak loudly over the crowd when He said, "If any man thirsts, let him come unto me," as found in John 7:37.
