I Give Up!

I Give Up!
I give up! I can’t go on, I refuse to try and do everything anymore because I just don’t have it in me anymore. Ever said that before? You too?
You are right. We can’t do it bodily or mentally anymore, ourselves. These earthly bodies tend to wear down after awhile and so we can’t do what we did before. Not physically or mentally. Not that we did it on our own anyway! We are nothing without God. God has carried us thus far and will continue to do so with our faith and prayers.
Galatians 5:22-23 “But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control;….”
The Holy Spirit lives on inside me to give me strength and wisdom. I can only win in my Christian life with the Holy Spirit working through me. The Spirit produces character traits and I have to act on this. We have to live our lives to His.
John 15:4, 5, 8 “Take care to live in me, and let me live in you. For a branch can’t produce fruit when severed from the vine. Nor can you be fruitful apart from me. 5. Yes, I am the Vine, you are the branches. Whoever lives in me and I in him shall produce a large crop of fruit. Apart from me you can’t do a thing.”
We try and live without God and our lives fall apart. We are part of the Body of Christ and everyone has a part in it.
8 “My true disciples produce bountiful harvest and this brings great glory to my Father.”
I learned in a study at church that we can “come as we are to God, but we don’t want to stay that way.”
God accepts everyone and wants to work with us all. He loves us. His grace is overwhelming and we have been forgiven. All we have to do is know Christ, love him, remember him imitate him, believe! In this way we will complete the intended design of the law. God’s law. We have then loved man and God and the Holy Spirit will help us develop this in our life. God disciplines us sometimes to strengthen our character. This is a pruning of the branches and it helps us grow. Those people that will not follow God will be cut off so that the disciples can grow. We must believe that Christ is God’s son, we must receive Him as our Savior and Lord God and do what God tells us to do. We must follow His word, continue in our faith of Him, and relate to the community of believers which is Christs body.
1 John 2:24-25 “So keep on believing what you have been taught from the beginning. If you do so you will always be in close fellowship with both God the Father and his Son. And he himself has promised us this: eternal life.”
There are many people out there with good intentions, a lot of energy and do well for the Lord. We must stay close to God and realize that in times of plenty and in times of need, we must rely on God to help us. We cannot do anything by ourselves. This is not part of our capabilities. We need Him in all aspects of our life. As we grow in God, we need Him to keep developing us for greater times in Him and His word. Like a branch cut off, we wither and die. Receive His sustenance and you receive His gift. He loves us and wants us to have the best. Stay and grow in our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Growing in Him,
